Fall 2012: Hermès

Obsessed with this song!

Beauty Review: Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat

Unless you've been living under a very unglamourous rock for the last two decades, Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat should need no introduction. But, in case you have, it's both the concealer to end all concealers and highlighter extraordinaire.

Admittedly it took me a while to try out this cult product, but since I have I've been hooked. I'm on my third wand in six months! Touche Éclat is one of my handbag staples and it's great as a quick makeup refresher and afternoon pick-me-up (and also much kinder on the hips than hitting the chocolate draw).

While under eye bags are it's main enemy, it's really a highlighting multi-tasker. Dot on and then smooth in the usual highlighter spots- brow bones, cheek bones, down the centre of the nose, along the cupids bow and anywhere else you feel needs a nice dewy glow!

Also, while I'm on the subject of Yves Saint Laurent, they've also just released a fabulous app, Color Mirror. This super clever app allows you to upload a photo of yourself, or use a pre-selected model, and test out all of their products and shades!

Beauty News: Benefit Raising Eyebrows book launch

Well maintained brows are the basics of any good beauty regime, and one of my own grooming must haves. Even if I'm sitting around being lazy weekend, as I am right now, my basic makeup routine includes foundation, mascara and brows. And, as you all should know, when it comes to eyebrows Benefit really are the authority!

Yesterday, they unleashed their brow knowledge onto the world via their new book, Raising Eyebrows. Written by Cameron Tuttle, the book contains genius tips and tricks from all of Benefit's brow experts. Also, not only does this book contain lots of great content, but true to Benefit's style it's super cute and fun.

Raising Eyebrows retails for $25, or you can purchase for $19.95 when you also stock up on Benefit's must have primer, the POREfessional. Plus, $1 from every sale goes towards the Look Good...Feel Better Charity- so there's really no excuse not to go out and get yourself a copy!

Beauty Review: Lancôme Visionnaire

Lancôme Visionnaire has been one of the biggest launches in a while, so is it worth all of the hype?

After twelve years of development, this new serum is claimed to fight wrinkles, pores and unevenness. It contains a molecule dubbed 'LR 2412', which is designed to 'propel' through skin layers.

Housed in sleekly designed packaging, the serum itself has a pearlised appearance and feels gentle and light, with a pleasant smell. It soaks in easily to the skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth straight away. I've been using this product for a few weeks now and I've definitely noticed a difference. While I don't have wrinkles yet, it's improved my overall skintone and I feel like my skin is tighter and more radiant.

So to answer the original question, yes- I think so. All of my friends who have tried it love it too, so it's definitely one to add to the shopping list!

Lancôme Visionnaire retails for $115 for a 30ml and $165 for 50ml.

Art: Da Mental Vaporz

I love a bit of well planned grafitti art (not shit tagging or random profantities), though my personal spray painting experience has been limited to spray painting over a line an old neighbor had painted to stop people from parking outside of his house.

If you too enjoy street art and live in Melbourne then you should definitely head down to the Rtist Gallery (29 St Edmonds St, Prahan) to check out work from Da Mental Vaporz, a creative and internationally renowned street grafitti crew from France. The exhibition closes on the 4th March.

Below are some images from the exhibition opening, as well as some of their amazing videos.
